Motor vehicle sun visor with reinforced accessory housing

One side of the visor has a housing (5) for an accessory such as a vanity mirror. The housing is reinforced along at least one edge (8) by a stiffener (9) in the form of an L-section metal strip. The housing has a series of tabs (7) along its edge (8), and the reinforcing strip (9) has slots (12) to engage with the tabs and fix onto the housing with a friction fit. The visor and housing are made from compatible materials which can be heat-welded, with the housing connected to the visor by the tabs.
