In a steel-plant layout, consisting of installations for melting (3), for metallurgically changing the melt (5, 6), for continuous casting (8) etc., which are set up along a process line (4) preferably closed upon itself, it is intended to achieve not only an optimal material flow during the steel-making but also a substantial personnel reduction. For this purpose, it is proposed to provide in the centre region of the process line (4) a control station (11) for the steel-making installations. This control station (11) has fields of view (12, 12') for the steel-making installations (3, 5, 6, 8) arranged along the process line (4).
