The transporter is used to load, compress and unload containers (10) of compressible material using a sliding action. The container has a circular transverse section. The door (11) of the container moves vertically to allow the container to be coupled to a compacter and is operated hydraulically. The transporter may be installed on a motorised vehicle or as a trailer.
