PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle deceleration detecting means which can detect highly accurate vehicle deceleration. SOLUTION: This deceleration detecting means is constituted so as to include a wheel speed-detecting means 1 for detecting a speed of each wheel set to a vehicle, and a vehicle deceleration-operating means 2 for operating a vehicle deceleration α as a change amount per unit time of the wheel speed detected by the wheel speed-detecting means 1. At least either of an upper limit value LU and a lower limit value LD of a change amount α-#0 of the vehicle deceleration α to a previous value α0 by a predetermined time t0 is set. When the change amount α-α0 of the vehicle deceleration α operated by the vehicle deceleration- operating means 2 to the previous value α0 by the predetermined time t0 exceeds at least one of the upper limit value LU or the lower limit value LD, the change amount α-α0 is controlled at least to the one by a vehicle deceleration control means 3 installed in the deceleration detecting means.
