NUMERICAL CONTROL FOR MACHINE-TOOLS, ROBOTS OR THE LIKE

By implementing a sequence control system in a numerical control, tool-related machining operations (TO) and position elements (GO) are processed for each machining task depending on their technology-dependent sequence in the processing program so that all cycles of a machining operation (TO) are successively selected as modal cycles. All cycles for a position element (GO) are successively selected for each cycle of a machining operation and the corresponding machining operation (TO) is processed at the position of the corresponding position element (GO) before the following cycle for a machining operation (TO) is selected as a modal cycle. Unnecessary tool replacements can thus be avoided, the duration of a processing program can be shortened and machining productivity can therefore be increased.
