PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mutagen suppressant showing excellent mutagensuppressing effects. SOLUTION: This mutagen suppressant comprises an extract obtained by extraction of Yucca, a plant with organic solvent(s), containing saponin and 3,4',5-trihydroxystilbene. Since this mutagen suppressant contains saponin as well as trihydroxystilbene, it can show more excellent mutagen-suppressing effects than it can when this saponin does not coexist. It is preferable that the extract is fractions having a molecular weight of >=500, collected after dialyzing the extracted liquid obtained by extraction of Yucca with organic solvent(s). |
