The invention concerns handtool such as a pair of pliers, formed of two articulated handles (1 and 2) each comprising at one end jaws (3 and 4) corresponding to a specific function, said jaws being returned into open position by an elastic member (O) mounted between the two handles at their articulation. It comprises an elastic member (O) consisting of a block (6) in deformable rubbery material with fixing arrangements (6c) co-operating with matching arrangements (7) on one of the handles (1), said arrangements capable of providing collapsible coupling.
