<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a liquid crystal display panel with high manufacturing yield without increasing the number of manufacturing processes by forming a common electrode, a data line, and a gate line on mutually different layers across inter-layer films formed of insulators. SOLUTION: For a pixel selected with a scanning signal supplied to the gate line 1 and a signal supplied to the data line 2, an electric field is produced in parallel to a substrate surface and liquid crystal molecules 17 are rotated to the direction parallel to the substrate surface according to the electric field to display an image. This liquid crystal display panel has the common electrode 5 and a common electrode line 3, the data line 2 and a pixel electrode 4, and the gate line 1 separated in three layers through five patterning processes, so a G-COM short circuit, a D-COM short circuit, etc., can be prevented. Further, the common electrode 5 is covered with a 1st inter-layer film 19 and the pixel electrode 4 is covered with a 2nd inter-layer film 20, so a liquid crystal layer and electrodes never come into direct contact with each other.</p> |
