Starting with a vacuum pump 2, as means for activating the servobrake 1 via the corresponding conduit 4, use is made, for actuating said vacuum pump 2, of a direct (continuous) current electric motor 5 supplied from the battery 6 of the vehicle via a central electronic unit 7 which regulates the operating mode of said electromotor 5 as a function of the signals received by sensors 9 and 10 in the brake 3 and acceleration 11 pedals, in such a manner that the working mode of the electromotor 5 is at a maximum when the sensor 9 detects the braking position of the corresponding pedal 3, and at a minimum when the sensor 10 detects the acceleration position of the pedal 11. An option selector 12 makes it possible to regulate, as desired, the maximum actuation level of the electromotor 5, depending on the driving style, road- surface conditions or other variables. <IMAGE>
