Process and apparatus for recovering sulphur compounds from flue gas

Sulphur containing compounds are recovered from flue gases from waste incinerators by first washing the gas with an alkaline solution containing NaOH. The resulting solution containing Na2SO4 is purified and before being subjected to electrodialysis to recover H2SO4 solution. Also claimed is a plant for carrying out the process.
