PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve steering feeling by generating rotor inertia compensation torque with an electric motor based on a rotor inertia compensation instruction value at the time of turning or returning of a wheel. SOLUTION: When a steering wheel W is judged as being turned by a turn/ return judging circuit 21, a switch 14 is turned on, a rotor inertia compensation instruction value outputted from a determining circuit 13 is added to a basic assist instruction value, and the addition signal is sent to a motor current control circuit 11. When a vehicle is traveled at a low speed, the gain is about 1, an electric motor 6 generates the rotor inertia compensation torque negating nearly all rotor inertia torque, and the light feeling of steering can be secured. In the high-speed travel state, the gain is reduced, a part of the rotor inertia torque is left, the rotor inertia torque acts as reaction force, and a stable high- speed travel can be attained.
|
