This method produces an opening (15) passing through a composite panel (10). The composite stack comprises a skin (11), a cellular thermoplastic core (12) and a second skin (13). The skins comprise fibre-reinforced thermoplastic. The panel is produced under a compression of 10<6> Pa to 3 x 10<6> Pa, the skins being preheated. To make the opening, the panel is penetrated through, by piercing at a predetermined location (14), during these treatments. This moves fibres of the first and second skins apart. Also claimed is the equipment used, including a spike (100). This is mounted on an internal wall of the mould (1) extending towards the opposite internal wall (1b). A recess (200) accepts the spike after penetration, which takes place during the moulding process. |
