The cooking pan is made from two sheets (1,2) of different metals or alloys which are laminated together. Its base (3) has small hollows (5) stamped in it, while the hollows in the outer sheet (1) penetrate into complementary hollows (6) in the inner sheet (2). The hollows are made by cold stamping and are confined to the centre of the base. The inner sheet is thinner than the outer sheet and is made in softer metal. The inner sheet can be made of aluminium, and the outer sheet can be made of stainless steel.
