<p>A T-structure (20), such as an internally reinforced concrete column (22) and cap beam (24), is reinforced with composite material applied to the beam (24) of the T-structure (20). The composite material is applied in layers, with a first layer (60) oriented at about +45 degrees to the longitudinal axis of the beam, a second layer (64) oriented at about -45 degrees, and a third layer (66) oriented at 90 degrees. The first (60) and second (64) layers are preferably applied on at least three sides of the beam (24), and the third layer (66) is preferably applied on all four sides.</p> |
