Engine pressure brake and exhaust outflow shutoff valve

A bypass line (5) connects the exhaust line upstream of the pressure flap (4) with the line downstream of the valve (4), using a bypass line of pre-set or valve-controlled (6) section. A control device (7) controls the opening of the valve (6) depending on parameters such as line pressure upstream of the valve (4), engine temperature etc. The valve (6) is connected to the pressure pickup in the line above the valve (6) and a shutoff air line near the pickup issues into the exhaust line (3) or the pressure feedline to the pickup in such a way that the shutoff air is blown onto the pickup. The shutoff line branches off the intake line downstream of the exhaust turbocharger and the shutoff line should include a throttle and/or non-return valve. The pickup and the shutoff air line entry are sites in the bypass line (5) and the shutoff line entry should lie downstream of the turbine.
