Piglets reared in cages by the method claimed in Specification 1,054,821 are fed by means of a common feed trough extending through the cages and which is charged at predetermined times with a liquid or semi-liquid feed which flows along the trough to the piglets in the individual cages. The cages are arranged in a series of sets 3-5, the sets being offset vertically and a trough 6 formed of joined sections extends through the cages at a downward inclination. The trough is charged with feed from a storage container 7 and flows through the trough under gravity, any unused feed being collected in container 8 and returned to container 7 by a pump 10 In a modification means are provided for mixing the feed from basic ingredients and supplying it to the storage container. |
