<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the IPS type liquid crystal image display device which has a high numerical aperture by connecting a counter electrode at plural places in a column direction in an image display part. SOLUTION: To evade the concentration of a charging and a discharging current on a liquid crystal cell in the row direction of the counter electrode 11, the counter electrode is provided with a vertical current bypass and also formed in a grating shape on scanning lines 8 and signal lines 7 across a thick insulating layer. Consequently, an opening part 21 is provided at an end part of a parted scanning line 8 to expose part of the scanning line 8, and the upper wire 22 of a multi-layered wire which is connected to the parted scanning line 8 including the opening part 21 at the time of the formation of a signal line 7 is formed. Consequently, the charging and discharging currents of a liquid crystal cell are dispersed vertically or circumferentially to obtain the same effect with a great decrease in the resistance value of the counter electrode 11, and the pattern width of the counter electrode 11 which connects the counter electrode 11 between unit pixels can be made narrow, so that the aperture rate is improved.</p> |
