Fuel is injected into an internal combustion engine by a valve having a valve member with sealing face, axially displaceable in a valve body and interacting with a valve seat. A pressure body (10) in the form of a plate spring and acting on a stop acts as the valve spring, which exerts a force on the valve member directed towards the valve seat. The plate spring preferably has an axially projecting bearing face (17) on the side facing the stop, located at a distance (d) from the outer surface (16) of the spring, particularly in the form of a circular face, concentric to the axis of the spring.
