Hydraulic machine as pump for power assisted steering

Hydraulic machine consisting of a drive shaft (27), a drive wheel fitted on one end of the drive shaft to induce the drive forces into the drive shaft. These forces have a component perpendicular to the axis of the drive shaft. A pumping unit is fitted to the other end of the drive shaft. This unit has a primary pumping element (11) driven in rotation by the drive shaft and a fixed element (17) cooperating with the primary element and a series of ball bearings (33) fitted between the two ends of the drive shaft. It is characterised in that the ball bearing (33) is mounted off-set in relation to the trace of the geometric axis (13) in such a way that it results in the drive shaft being in a non loaded state. The bearing (33) is off-set in relation to the geometric axis in the direction of the force component.
