The display device has a display area on which one or more manufacturing drawings can be displayed, each matching a certain product variant or series of manufacturing steps. Different drawings are marked to enable them to be distinguished from each other. The display device has an interface (12) for performing a data exchange with a data transfer device of a production control system, whereby the markers are transferred to the display device via the transfer device for the drawings matching the next sequence of manufacturing steps or the next sequence of product variants to be made.
