A photographic film magazine comprising two semi-cylinders 1a, 1c joined by an apertured plate, a light tight cover 2, a freely rotatable spool 3 in the open ended take up chamber 1c, the spool having grooves which engage ribs in the chamber 1c and cover 2 to provide a light tight joint, is provided with a releasable pawl 5 co-operating with toothing 1i and 2a to allow the spool to be turned only in the winding up direction. The front plate is provided with a rib 1e having a notch if the position of which depends on the sensitivity of the film loaded in the magazine. A second spool Fig. 4 (not shown) may be provided in the film supply chamber la which is smaller than the chamber 1c. Two other forms of pawl and ratchet means are described. |
