<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the quality of a recording image from degrading regardless of the opening rate of a modulation element. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel 30 having a plurality of liquid crystal cells is fixed to an LCD base 100 which is then secured to a support 102 through a leaf spring 101. The LCD base 100 is linked through an arm 33 with a drive section 31 telescoping under control of a subcontrol section 23. The subcontrol section 23 forms an image on the liquid crystal panel 30 based on an image data and exposed the image onto a print sheet 54 by irradiating the liquid crystal panel 30 with light through control of LEDs 25, 26, 27. Furthermore, the drive section 31 is controlled during exposure of the image to shift the liquid crystal panel 30 by a specified distance in a specified direction. Since the liquid crystal panel 30 is shifted during exposure of the image, the exposing amount distribution is made smooth among the liquid crystal cells regardless of the opening rate of a modulation element and the image quality is prevented from degrading.</p> |
