PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a mip at a high speed and to simultaneously obtain the flexible expandability of texture size as well, by providing a texture map in a fractal structure. SOLUTION: A CPU 1 operates an object in a virtual space, provides its information and performs various kinds of control, etc. A geometry processor 2 performs the coordinate transformation of polygon, geometrical transformation (vector operation) and luminance calculation or the like at a high speed. A fill processor 3 for performing hidden plane erasing processing paints out the polygon in the area and finds every information on a polygon to come to this side mostly for every pixel. A texture processor 4 sticks a texture to each pixel in the area. A shading processor 5 finds the luminance of each pixels in the area. When accessing a frame buffer 5a as an image memory for storing the pixel data of plane arrangement, the respective pixels in the frame buffer 5a are accessed in the fractal form. |
