A fluorescent lamp which emits light mainly by a green phosphor whose emission peak wavelength is in the range of 530-560 nm and a red phosphor whose emission peak wavelength is in the range of 600-630 nm, characterized in that the Munsell hues of four test colors, No. 9, No. 10, No. 11 and No. 12 for special color rendering index calculation which are prescribed in CIE Publication No. 13.3 published by the Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage can be recognized as red, yellow, green and blue-violet respectively when illuminated by the fluorescent lamp.
