<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage of a printer by detecting rotation of a recording paper carrying mechanism driven by a motor, and stopping the motor when a paper jam is caused by comparing it with a prescribed driving signal to rotate the motor at prescribed speed. SOLUTION: Cosntinuous paper 8 is carried by being sandwiched by a driving roller 5 and a driven roller 6. The driving roller 5 rotates when driving of a motor 3 is transmitted by a transmission gear 4. An encoder 2 is installed coaxially with the transmission gear 4 and the driving roller 5. The encoder 2 is detected by a photosensor 1, and a signal of a time interval according to rotating speed is generated. When a paper jam is caused, influence is also exerted on rotation of a driving transmitting part of a paper feed. This is detected by comparing it with a detecting signal in the encoder 2 with a driving signal of the motor 3 as a reference. At this time, driving of the motor is stopped, and the paper feed is stopped, and damage of a printer is prevented.</p> |
