PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the telephone set from being operated by a 3rd party as it pleases in the case that the possessor of the telephone set is resident at a remote place from the telephone set main body with respect to the portable telephone set where the arrival of an incoming call is reported through the vibration of a vibration generator that is a separate unit from the telephone set main body. SOLUTION: A vibration generator 50 outputs an identification signal to a telephone set main body 20 in a prescribed timing and the telephone set main body 20 discriminates whether or not the identification signal is detected. In the case that no identification signal is detected, since it means that the vibration generator 50 is placed at a location apart from the telephone set main body 20 by a prescribed distance or over, the telephone set main body 20 conducts inhibit processing of inhibiting the operation. Contents of the inhibit processing are stop of the transmission reception function of the telephone set main body 20, inhibit of the operation of an input section 32, inhibit of ringing of the telephone set main body 20, a so-called automatic answering recording means and transfer of the call to other portable telephone set or the like.
