PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device by which the power of a detection signal from an optical recording medium can be increased without deteriorating frequency characteristics and an optical recording medium driving device equipped with it. SOLUTION: 1st and 2nd photodiodes 8 and 9 are provided on the upper surface of a stem 1. A feedback beam subjected to positive 1st degree diffraction by a transmitting hologram device 6 is detected by the 1st photodiode 8 and a feedback beam subjected to negative 1st degree diffraction is detected by the 2nd photodiode 9. The 1st photodiode 8 has a plurality of light detecting regions and a reproducing signal, a focus error signal and a tracking error signal are respectively outputted in accordance with the feedback beam. On the other hand, the 2nd photodiode 9 has single light detecting region and outputs a reproducing signal in accordance with the feedback beam.
