PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable high-precision, efficient structure specified retrieval by inputting document data obtained by analyzing a document to be registered, putting respective registered documents one over another, and representing an element group of the same kind by a single metanode. SOLUTION: When a document registration control program 214 is started with a registration indication command, etc., from a keyboard 202, a document to be registered which is stored on a floppy disk 205 is inputted and a document structure analyzing program 210 is executed to generate analyzed document data corresponding to the document to be registered. Then the generated document data which is already analyzed is inputted and a structure index generating program 211 is executed to put logical structures that documents to be registered have one over another in order; and an element groups having the same appearance position in the documents and the same kind is represented by a single metanode to generate structure indexes. Then, context identifiers which are identified uniquely are given to metanodes constituting the tree structure of the structure indexes. |
