PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the driver to perform the shift operation easily while any desired gear ratio is obtained in the manual mode. SOLUTION: A shift control device of a continuously variable transmission is equipped with the first target gear ratio setting means 100 to set the target gear ratio for the transmission 10 in accordance with the operating condition of a vehicle, the second target gear ratio setting means 101 to set the target gear ratio in conformity to the signal given by a shift command means 106 operated by the driver to one of plural shift stages GP, a shifting mode changeover means 102 to change over from the first setting means 100 to the second setting means 101 or vice versa selectively, and a shift control means 104 which changes the gear ratio of the transmission 10 on the basis of the output of a shitting mode changeover means 102. The second target gear ratio setting means 101 is furnished with a gear ratio adjusting means 103 which can set the instructed gear ratio dGp complying with the operating position of the shift command means 106 between the current shift position and adjoining position thereto. |
