PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add a manual mode to an automatic shifting mode by ordering an upshift or a downshift based on the detection value of automatic shift position detecting means, when shift mode change means selects the manual mode by manual shift order means. SOLUTION: In controlling a shift in a shift controller 2, at first, it is detected whether a shift position of an inhibitor switch 4 is in an M range or not and when it is YES, it is judged whether the manual mode switch 7 is turned ON or not. When the manual mode switch 7 is OFF, it is shifted to the automatic shifting mode, however, when it is ON, it is judged whether the inhibitor switch 4 is in a D range or not and if in the D range, it is upshifted. On the other hand, when it is not in the D range and the inhibitor switch 4 is in 1 range, it is downshifted. In the automatic shifting mode, the change gear ratio of the automatic transmission 10 is changed according to the shift position. |
