The mechanism comprises a spindle (1) which is provided with a helical raised portion (8) and is rotated by a motor (4). The packages (10) have suspension eyes (11) and are pushed on the spindle so that each package is located between two adjacent raised parts (9). When the spindle is rotated, the packages are moved towards its front end, at which the front package comes off the end of the spindle and falls. Between the spindle and the motor an interposed gear unit and a coupling (3) are provided, with an electric switch (13) for switching the motor off after a package has been discharged. The delivery device may be mounted on a wall as an independent unit.
