Electric cable, with firm and tight bonding

Electric cable (1) has a surface bonding zone (4) for a shaped component such as a plug or socket. The bonding surface (4) is formed on the outer mantle surface of the insulation, over a part length, by at least one bonded intermediate layer such as a ring or sleeve. The intermediate layer adheres to the plastics insulation mantle of the cable. The intermediate layer is identical to the plastics of the shaped component, preferably polyolefin, especially polyethylene or polypropylene, or it can be a metal.
