<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the recycling of a treated foamed plastic material by treating the material in a dry or wet state. SOLUTION: A foamed plastic material is supplied to a hopper 10 having a first auger with a cutting function. The first auger is driven by an electric motor 30 and cuts the plastic material to small pieces which are, in turn, discharged into a vertical chamber 19 from the hopper 10. The vertical chamber 19 has a second auger 20A to be driven by an electric motor 31. The small pieces of the plastic material are compressed by the second auger 20A and the compressed small pieces are sent to a chamber which serves as the inlet end of a horizontal friction chute 22. The plastic material in this chamber is compressed by a hydraulic ram 22A which, in turn, extrudes the compressed plastic material along the friction chute 22.</p> |
