PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control printing based on set printing initial data, by setting the printing initial data including printing contents such as characters, numerals, etc., at a personal computer. SOLUTION: Printing initial data such as printing data, a printing bar code, a printing layout, a count of sheets to be printed, etc., are set through a personal computer (S101). The set printing initial data are transmitted to a bar code printer (S102) and stored in a printing initial data-recording area of an EEP ROM (S104). At the operation in a stand alone state not connected to the personal computer via an external interface, label print-setting data transmitted last by a control software stored beforehand in a ROM are written to the EEP ROM. Therefore, during the operation of the single body, printing data are generated from the printing initial data recorded in the EEP ROM, and a label is printed in accordance with an operation control program of a system which is stored beforehand in the ROM (S106). |
