PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a cushion characteristic by forming a cushion material which consists of synthetic fiber stock and is specified in its apparent density and hardness in such as manner that the cavity holes of specific % length of its thickness occupy a specific occupying rate. SOLUTION: This molded cushion material 1 made of fibers is the cushion material which consists of the synthetic fiber stock and has the apparent density of 0.02 to 0.08g/cm<3> and the hardness of 15 to 70kgf. The cavity holes 3 of the length of >=40% of the thickness scatter in the thickness direction of the cushion material. The rate at which all the cavity holes occupy in the cushion material is 2 to 40%. The cushion material having the good cushion characteristic, air permeability and durability is obtd even in a same density, and particularly the density and hardness on the peripheries of the cavity holes 3 exhibit the values higher than those of the parts where there are no cavity holes and, therefore, the cushion material varying in the hardness is easily obtd. This different hardness imparts desirable results to the cushion property and wearing feel. The sectional area of the cavity holes 2, 4 on the plane intersecting orthogonally with the thickness direction is preferably in a range of 0.2 to 15cm<2> . |
