PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow formation of an image, such as a face photograph in a sublimation transfer method without providing a dye receiving layer by forming at least a full color gradation image formed with a dye and a monotonous image formed with a pigment ink on at least one side of a card substrate. SOLUTION: A composite heat transfer sheet comprises sublimation dye layer with yellow, magenta and cyan hue regions 2Y, 2M and 2C and a thermally moldable ink layer 3 on a substrate film. In use, with the dye layer 2Y of the heat transfer sheet superimposed on a card substrate 9, an yellow image 2Y is transferred by a thermal printer operated according to a color separation signal. Similarly, a magenta image 2M and a cyan image 2C are transferred on the same region so as to form a desired color image 10 of a face photograph, and the like. After printing characters, marks, and the like, on the thermally meltable ink layer 3, a protection layer 4 is formed on the color image 10 and/or image 3 so as to complete a desired card. |
