<p>PURPOSE:To stabilize the pH of fermentation liquid and improve fermentation efficiency by irradiating light to the fermentation liquid in a methane fermentation tank of the construction wherein the gaseous methane formed by fermenting fermentation raw materials is captured, and culturing chlorellas. CONSTITUTION:A transparent upper cover consisting partly or wholly of a transparent glass plate or the like is provided to a methane fermentation tank 1 to permit incidence of solar light into a liquid storage chamber 3, thereby making the culturing of chlorella possible. When gaseous methane begins to accumulate in the upper space 8 of a fermentation chamber 4 upon starting of operation, fermentation liquid 4a is forced up into the chamber 3. As a result, chlorellas are included into the liquid 4a, and propagate by performing photosynthesis with the solar light entering the same and gaseous CO2. When the gaseous methane accumulated in the upper space 8 of the chamber 4 is taken out, the chlorellas suspending in the liquid 4 enters the inside of the chamber 4, and serve as sources for formation of gaseous methane.</p> |
