PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer sheet with a heat-resistant back layer with adequate smoothness and absolutely no possibilities of becoming transferred to an ink surface by providing a thermal transfer layer on the surface of a support and applying a baked coat of silicone oil with a specified thickness on the rear of the thermal transfer layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer sheet consists of an ink layer on the surface of a support and a baked coat of silicone oil with a thickness of 0.1 to 0.01mum on the rear. In addition, it is recommended as an another design choice that a peel-off layer be present between the support and the ink layer. The baked coat is an applied film formed using thermal drying technique. The support is a film with a thickness of 2 to 25mum, and is of such a material as polyester film, polycarbonate film, triacetylcellulose film, and nylon film. The silicone oil which can be baked is such as methylhydrodiene silicone oil, dimethyl silicone oil or methylphenyl silicone. |
