<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute pseudo halftone display and pseudo outline correction while high picture quality is maintained by changing a dither coefficient which is to be added in a dither processing against picture element data at every field, and executing pseudo outline correction data conversion corresponding to a dither coefficient added in the dither processing in pseudo outline correction data conversion. SOLUTION: An A/D converter 1 samples an inputted video signal and supplies picture element data corresponding to every picture element to a picture data processing circuit 3. The picture data processing circuit 3 is constituted of a dither processing circuit 31 and a pseudo outline correction data conversion circuit 32. It processes picture element data, reduces the number of the bits of picture element data, realizes pseudo halftone display, generates picture element data compensating the pseudo outline and supplies it to a frame memory 4. The memory 4 sequentially writes picture element data outputted from the processing circuit 3, reads them in accordance with timing and supplies them to a column electrode driver 6 as picture element driving data.</p> |
