Cyclopropanecarboxylic acid amides <IMAGE> wherein R represents hydrogen, straight-chain or branched C1-C4-Alkyl, optionally substituted aryl or optionally substituted aralkyl, can be prepared directly from the corresponding cyclopropanecarboxylic acid by reaction with ammonia under pressure in a suitable organic solvent.
