APPARATUS FOR CREATING SCULPTURED NAILS

An attachable member (10) for creating sculptured nails and a method of using the same is disclosed. The attachable member (10) comprises a platform (12) having a leading edge (20) for placement beneath the nail and a skirt (14) extending from the platform (12) for placement around the finger to secure the attachable member (10) thereto. The platform (12) includes a template portion (12a) which defines the shape of the finished nail, an adjacent border portion (12b) and a groove portion (12c) which defines the boundary between the template portion (12a) and the border portion (12b). The groove portion (12c) further defines an outline of the desired shape of the nail and further, the thickness of the extended nail. The skirt (14) includes a pair of legs (14a, 14b) provided on either side of the template portion (12a) and extending rearwardly beyond the platform (12). The legs (14a, 14b) are somewhat flexible and assist in compressively holding the atachable member (10) to the sides of the finger. In use, the attachable member (10) is placed upon the finger with the leading edge (20) beneath the nail and a liquid catalyst/powder acrylic mix is brushed across the template portion (12a) to the groove portion (12c) so as to cover the template portion (12a) of the attachable member (10).
