Non-delaminating textile sheet structure with good upholstering drape

A textile sheet construction has a worked-in yarn with approximate proportions of a low melting binding fibre at 10-20 wt.% and of a fibre, which either does not melt or melts at a higher temp. than the binding fibre, at 90-80 wt.%. Pref. the yarn consists of a two-component polyester fibre where the higher or non-melting fibres form the base of a polyester or mixed polyester weave. The fibres are recycled, i.e. ravelled, fibres. The proportion of the lower melting binding fibre is 15 or 30 wt.% and is a thermoplastic fibre e.g. polyvinyl chloride capable of being welded at high frequency.
