PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simulation method for material preparation which can select a resin plate for preparing a plate material of requested dimensions in a short period of time. SOLUTION: On this invention, the simulation method for material preparation selects one plate material, from which the requested dimensions of plate can be taken, among plural resin plates, which are prepared in advance. On the selected resin plate 27, the quantity of the surplus parts 27a, 27b, and 27c remaining after cutting of the plate material 26 is calculated.
