PURPOSE:To improve the performance of a printer by carrying a recording paper to a specified position by a recording control means when a recording demand signal or a preliminary paper feeding signal is received while waiting for the preliminary paper feeding signal and starting preparation for execution of an electrophotographic process. CONSTITUTION:The recording paper is carried to the specified position by the recording control means when the recording demand signal or the preliminary paper feeding signal is received while waiting for the preliminary paper feeding signal and preparation is started for execution of the electrophotographic process. That is, when the preliminary paper feeding signal is received during standby, the paper is not only carried to the specified position but one part of the electrophotographic process which can be carried out simultaneously, for example, rotation of a scanner at a specified number of rotation, or in addition to this, controlling of temperature of a fixing device to a high temperature are carried out. Therefore, the time from when the next printing signal is received until the recording is started can be shortened. Thus, the effect against the improvement of the throughput of the preliminary paper feeding is utilized to the maximum, and the performance of the printer can be improved. |
