A vehicle jacking system comprises at least one powered jacking device 15, 16, 17, 18 secured to a part of the vehicle and operable to deploy a ground engaging member 22 to engage the ground and lift a part of the vehicle, and a control means for controlling operation of the at least one jacking device, wherein the ground-engaging member aligns with the surface of the ground e.g. through a ball and socket joint. A control unit 33 may be provided in the drivers compartment. The jacking system may be used as an anti-theft device. |
