PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by stopping power supply to a display section during a speech. SOLUTION: A power switch 4 is controlled by a control section 3 to activate/interrupt a power supply to a display section 5. Upon the receipt of a power supply from a battery 6 via the power switch 4, the display section 5 displays various information sent from the control section 3. A voice detection section 1 detects a speech voice from a microphone 7. A key entry section 2 is operated at a speech start and its end. The control section 3 decides a speech state by the detection of a voice and key depression by touching the portable telephone set to an ear, the control section 3 stops power supply to the display section 5 and when the control section 3 decides that the speech is finished, power is supplied to the display section 5. |
