The description relates to an application system (10) with an applicator (16) and a container (12) in which there is a liquid application medium (14). The applicator (16) has a handle (18) and an applicator component (20) which can be moistened with the liquid application medium and can be fitted at the front with the applicator component (20) through an aperture (26) in the container (12). From the aperture (26) into the container (12) extends a sleeve (32), the upper end section (36) of which is secured to the container (12) to form a seal and which has in its central section (42) at least one recess (44) by which the interior of the sleeve (32) is connected to the interior of the container (12) surrounding the sleeve (32). The sleeve (32) also has a shaping section (48) to shape the applicator component (20).
