PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire and a manufacturing method thereof which enables more quick production while meeting higher requirements pertaining to safety. SOLUTION: This main guide wire 1 serves to percutaneously introduce a balloon expansion catheter into a blood vessel in particular. The guide wire 1 has a flexible coil 2 surrounding a flexible shaft 3. The coil 2 is made up of at least two coil springs 4 and 5. The coil springs are rotated together at connection portions 8 to be mutually soldered. To achieve this connection, end parts where the two coils 4 and 5 should be connected are individually slid on a centering mold, rotated together and further soldered. Then, the centering mold is removed again. The connection portions 8 are made tubular and hollow inside and thus, the flexible shaft 3 can be inserted into the connection part thereafter. |
