PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the reflected light of a scanning light from not being returned to a scanning part, or to prevent data indicated by a bar code label from being erroneously decoded or not being decoded. SOLUTION: When a luggage 5 to which a bar code label 4 is stuck is carried, scanning parts A1a-C1c converge the light of a light source to a place which the bar code label 4 should pass through by a converger, scan it by a scanner, and receive a reflected light by a light receiver. At that time, the scanning part B1b scans the A face of the bar code label 4, receives a reflected light (a), and outputs a partial bar code signal A. The scanning part C1c scans the B face of the bar code label 4, receives a reflected light (b), and outputs a partial bar code signal B. A decoding part 3 selects the partial bar code signal A including a signal indicating a start code, and the partial bar code signal B including a signal indicating a stop code, synthesizes those partial bar code signals, restores the bar code signal, and decodes data indicated by the bar code label 4. |
