The piston compressor or air-conditioning installations has an oil sump containing a filter-driver element, in the usual manner, but which may be removed and changed when required. The compressor oil sump (2) contains oil which is used for lubrication and also partly as a component in the refrigeration circuit in removing moisture from the refrigerant. A tubular filter-driver element (3) is provided to extract water and particles from the oil, and consequently becomes in need of replacement. A hole (4) is provided in the wall (1) of the sump and this is sealed with a plug (13) and seal (12). The filter-driver is attached to the plug for ease of removal. |
